Yesterday we had a family swim day. Landon took a much-needed nap while we played with Bailey and Myles. Scott and I took turns sitting in the sun by our sleeping baby while the other froze in the water. I never thought I would be excited for temps above 105, but bring on the heat! We also had a papa john's pizza for $1.08, thanks to a fun promotion for Az residents. Bailey decided she wanted to swim some laps to prepare for swim team, which starts on Monday. She kept going and going, swimming 16 laps before it was time to go. She and I are both so excited for her to do swim team. She has always loved swimming and it comes naturally to her. Fortunately this is a great climate for swimming! Myles has been fearful of the water this year. Yesterday he got brave and actually put his face in the water, but mostly he sticks to the shallow end. The pool we go to most has beach entry which is perfect for him. He is a smarty-pants; Myles finds shapes and letters in anything and can spell hi

Bailey and I went on a mother/daughter date yesterday. It was so much fun to spend time with just her. We don't get to do that very often. I am grateful that Scott took the boys. Very rarely do I get to relax with Bailey and I regret that. Between Landon's total newborn dependence and Myles' recent inclination toward melt-downs, Bailey sees a stressed-out mom a lot of the time. She is such a fun girl. We went to a nearby water park and had a blast. I let her lead me. We went in the lazy river, down the waterslides and over to the lap pool. Then I watched her on the diving board, we got snacks and did it all over again. I have acclimmated to Mesa because it was 90 degrees and I was freezing. The water was so cold. I was a good sport for about an hour and a half, but after that I was more of a spectator than a participant. I commiserated with the other cold moms. People really don't swim if the weather is less than 100 degrees here and now I know why! I love my Bailey and

I have to talk about my day on Tuesday because it was frustrating and wonderful all at once. I took Landon to physical therapy; this is about 25 minutes from our house and close to the Mesa temple. Afterward I had to exchange some garments at the distribution center and Myles wanted to see the temple. Unfortunately, I locked my keys in the car at the distribution center and had carried Landon in so I didn't have a car seat for him. I have great friends who rallied together to come get me after we sought out another infant seat to bring for Landon. Myles and Landon and I walked over to the temple while we were waiting for our rescue team. It was a hot day to be walking (it's been hovering around 100 for two weeks), but as we got to the temple I felt a light breeze and knew it was a sweet reminder from Heavenly Father that even in rough moments life is good. I also had a thought that when things are going really badly, get to the temple and it will be okay. I just love the templ
