Nothing better than ice-cream


I remember how hot it was in Venezuela and yet we could not find ice-cream anywhere! Sure, some man in the street was selling some kind of icee (we were always wary of the artificial flavoring, especially the YELLOW ones) but we were not allowed to buy street food; that was a very wise rule from our mission president. I missed ice-cream terribly while on my mission. And peanut butter. And real chocolate. We all know my Kryptonite is chocolate and peanut butter.
I just LOVE ice-cream. Very rarely do I go one day without eating an ice-cream cone at night. I love to sit with Scott and talk and indulge. It calms me and erases the stress of the day. Of course, when Scott is at work really late then I will have an actual bowl and put peanuts and magic shell in with the ice-cream. And I'll actually turn on the TV and watch something that Scott would not enjoy, like Biggest Loser or Samantha Who. Thank goodness for TiVo! So, the moral of this blog is: get some ice-cream and if you haven't enjoyed the luxury of TiVo yet, splurge a little! You will never go back to life without it.

I miss TiVo...we have a DVR and it sucks after having TiVo. Kyle was here this weekend...his friend Wyatt bought soy ice cream...what a waste of money...it was made of SOY...what the????? Gimme Baskin Robbins Gold Medal Ribbon any day!

I love Tivo, it definitely is addicting. I can't believe you eat ice cream every day, you are so tiny! If I ate that every day it would be a situation :)

Pink Eye!!!!

I woke up to the lovely sound of my screaming newborn at 1 am this morning and my right eye was burning. Turns out I have pink eye; I have never had it before and neither has Scott or the kids. I cannot believe how painful it is! I remember my greenie, Hermana Pocock had it in Venezuela. The revered cure-all down there is the lemon. Everywhere we went the people would tell her to squeeze a little lemon juice into her eye. Can you imagine how painful that would be? Not to mention what it might do to her eyesight. All I can say is thank goodness for medicated eye drops. It temporarily relieves the pain and I can't wait to be cured from this. 24 hours cannot pass soon enough! Yesterday our lesson was on the Second Coming. Bailey often asks me about when the Savior will come and what it will be like. I cannot wait to see the Savior and see what life will be like then. My First Marathon

The famous North Shore Waikiki Sunset Gorgeous Day at the Beach in Waikiki Many people have asked about the marathon and I cannot do it justice with just a summary. If you want to hear, "It was rough but went well" then feel free to skip the long narration that follows. Hawaii was amazing. I needed the break and truly appreciate the opportunity. I have said in previous posts that I know the Lord guided me to this path and despite the many challenges, I am grateful. The week before the marathon I did an 8 mile run which ended badly with excruciating pain in my left knee down to my ankle and foot. I limped home very worried and decided not to run until the marathon. I went to the chiropractor Wednesday night and she told me I needed to take three weeks off for my leg to recover. I reminded her the marathon was in 4 days. Her face went dead pan and simply said, "Do what you can then." I wanted to advise her to never become a motivational speaker but let it go. The nigh...

New Family Pics

I don't have much to report. We had family pictures a few weeks ago. We met a woman who needed computer repair so we were able to trade the full cost of her skills with Scott's mad computer skills. What a blessing! I love how they turned out. I am so blessed to have such a great family. We are all doing well. Here is a brief update: *Scott is trying to survive the load at work. He has worked three unplanned overnighters in the last six weeks. He would work 18 hours after sleeping only 3, then head back to work the next morning. He is also swamped with his calling and being a wonderful husband and father. I am so grateful he is a hard worker with great integrity. *Bailey is doing well at school. We just love her teacher this year. She is doing great at math and enjoying piano. She is growing up so quickly it hurts sometimes. *Myles is having a hard time at school. Last week he spit at an aide and called her, "Stupid head!" If you know Myles, this is not like him at all...
